Speaking on behalf of the family, Charles M. Mirotznik, said that the cause of death  was complications of pneumonia.

As well as battling Roger Moore in his first outing as 007 Geoffrey was a multi-talented  dancer, choreographer, actor, composer, designer and painter.

In 1975  he won two Tony Awards, (the theatre equivalent to The Oscars), for Direction of a Musical and costume design for “The Wiz,” a rollicking, all-black version of “The Wizard of Oz.”

As well as bringing his larger than life personality to the Baron Samedi character, Geoffrey Holder also choreographed the dance scenes in which the Barron  is seen performing as  007 walks to his hotel room and meets up with Mrs Bond aka Rosie Carver.

Our thoughts are with Geoffrey's friends and family at this difficult time.
