The world of James Bond lost one of its biggest stars last week when Richard Kiel, who played Jaws  in The Spy Who Loved Me  and Moonraker passed away. He was aged 74.

When I say that he was one of the biggest stars I don't only mean this in stature. As well as being 7ft 2 inches tall the actor was one of the nicest individuals you could meet. I met him once a good few years ago at a Memorabilia  fair held at the NEC in Birmingham. I was an impressionable youth back then and was nervous at meeting him. But he kindly signed an item for me and we had a little chat about the Bond movies. Many people online shared similar stories about Richard upon hearing of his passing.

Sir Roger Moore was particularly upset to hear about the passing of his on-screen nemisis - in real life a much loved friend:

Other people who paid tribute to Richard via Twitter included Adam Sandler (who co-starred alongside Richard in the comedy Happy Gilmore), Robert Davi and 007 composer David Arnold.

When someone passes away I like to remember them for who they were and what they achieved in their life. Therefore, I would like to pay tribute to Richard Kiel  by sharing some photo's that I have found online.

My sincere condolences and thoughts are with Richard's family at what must be a difficult time for them all.
