Looking through a box of 007 books I happened across in the loft I found a book I forgot I owned. Quite a special book to be honest. The book in question is a copy of the 1991 re-issue of Colonel Sun - written by Sir Kingsley Amis under the pseudonym of Robert Markham. So what makes it so special? Well it's signed by the author - and I've not heard talk of too many signed copies of Colonel Sun . Having said that I won the book as part of a competition in an issue of 007 Magazine (when it was the publication of the James Bond Fan Club), so undoubtedly there are others out there. I remember that in order to win the book you had to match the chapter title to the Ian Fleming Bond book it appeared in. I can't have been to shabby at it to have won the competition!
